Saikh Jiyarul Hoque
Founder, Saikh Jiyarul Hoque, graduated in law, from (National Law University Odisha) pursuing LLM in law, from (The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences).
The founder of the trust Saikh Jiyarul Hoque had observed that lots of kacha houses and
agricultural fields had been destroyed due to the affect of Amphan and Yaas.
During this situation Saikh Jiyarul Hoque had invited some NGOs like (IDIA) (Grater Kolkata
Initiative) (Light House Thinks Differently) (SB Community Kitchen) and all, with the help of them
dry foods, tarpaulin, Mosquito net, bleaching and other essential things had been provided to the
needy people of Sundarban and through this around 4000 families had been benefited, during this
period Saikh Jiyarul Hoque was the ground level volunteer had done the survey and selected the
actual needy people.
During Covid-19, after a long lockdown when it had been unlocked online classes had been
promoted, but the student from Sundarban region had no access of internet and neither was smart
phone facility, in this situation founder of this organization Saikh Jiyarul Hoque had approached
Advocate Arnab Roy who was running a self initiative name (SB Community Kitchen) from the beginning
of the Covid-19 under which they had provided cooked food and also they had provided dry food and
other essential things during post Amphan and Yaas period.
Observing the mentioned situation of the students of Sundarban at that time advocate Arnab
Roy and Saikh Jiyarul Hoque took an initiative name (SB Community Schooling) run by (SB Community
Kitchen) under which a free coaching center had been established in the village of Saikh Jiyarul
Hoque, this initiative had able to address the issues of inaccessibility of online classes and
given an alternative platform through which around 500 students from class five to ten had been
benefited.
Saikh Jiyarul Hoque was the member of the initiative and the local representative as well.
During this period he had observed that there is a lot to do in education sector in Sundarban
region, since the mentioned initiative was a temporary setup, the thought of Sundarban Social
Empowerment Centre had come to his mind in this situation for the betterment of the society, then
he took his other family member and completed the dream of charitable trust, now it is a registered
organization.
